Front Axle Seals

I'm getting a little leaking at my front axle ends. I ordered all the seals/bearings/u-joints, etc. so I could just redo the entire front axles, except for the shafts themselves.

Here is a pic of the leaking



I pulled my axle shaft, thinking a seal would be just inside the axle tube...but there is not:



I have these Inner Axle Seals from Quadratec:


Do they go inside the differential housing!?

yes. you have to pull the carrier out. good luck.

you might want to just add a lil gear oil every so often and call it good, taking the carrier out just to change some seals is quite a pain...

I'd probably wait until doin' gears or a locker and take it over to 4xdoc.

If the shafts are out, then pulling the carrier and reinstalling it would take less than an hour. Just be very careful to keep track of the shims and reinstall in the same order. The seals are a bit harder, sometimes the easiest way is to take a long pole and pound them out from the outside of the housing in. When installing the new seals use RTV.
