  • 2.5L strokers?

Anyone know of any 2.5L stroker kits? I searched a little bit but everything came up for the 4.0L.

No idea! But a 2.5L stroked would be interesting to see...I'll do some searching as well, as I'm running the 2.5L as well (Just with a beard and a rocking chair, and you gotta hold its hand while crossing the road).

So then swap in a 4.0 or V8 and dont waste money on trying to fix up a poor motor. Just my $.02...

                  Ok...

#1. I have been told a 4.0 doesnt just drop in, and I dont feel like re-locating mounts, changing harnesses, etc....

#2. For a good 4.0 plus everything that I would need I'm looking at more than a stroker kit would cost me. I won't buy high miles, and I wont buy anything that I don't know what shape its in.

#3. V8 is a waste of money and time in my situation because A) the cost of getting one... B) The cost of making my Jeep able to take one... C) gas prices...

The 2.5 has plenty of potential.

I guess I'm confused - you say a good 4.0L will cost more than a stroker kit... Is there a "stroker kit" for the 2.5L? I guess I'm curious what you would actually get given that you're starting with 140 ft-lb of torque... Wouldn't a good used (or even bad used and then rebuilt) 4.0L cost less than $1.5k? I can't see tearing down and stroking/rebuilding a 2.5L for the probable cost and marginal benefit? I have first hand knowledge of what goes into stroking a 4.0L, and there are many things to consider that are much more difficult to deal with than moving some motor mounts...

Just to ask...what are the specs of a 2.5L?
About 92HP I know, but what about the torque? Is it 140? Cause that's actaully not that bad O.o
