if it worked out... great, I just think you need to qualify it a bit. If you happened to be using the stock belly skid and a D35, your driveshaft angles may have been just fine.
With the longer pinion on the 44 and the fact that a bunch of us like the advantages of a higher clearance belly skid, it might not be the right choice. that's all I was sayin'.
