  • Two Questions.....

What exhaust are you running on a 258 inline 6 cyl. ? I want it to sound tough but not too loud.

LAst question. I am having a problem finding a part.....it connects the exhaust to the intake manifold. It looks like some kind of heating device for the motor. Any ideas?

I am a new member and I am rebuilding a cj7 any advice or ideas would be great.

    Thanks
    happy wheeling

i have a pacesetter header and a cheap knockoff of a flowmaster...of course they would not let me get out without a catalytic convertor it sounds pretty decent...

that piece you are missing is is a tube?

The tube, it costs about 30.00 at the dealership. I have a 258 with a vortex muffler, it is a real low soft, but powerfull sound. I like to keep the sound to a minimum since there are no official trails around here, and we have to sneak around sometimes to go wheeling.

but if you go with a header it may not have a spot for that tube anymore...

DAMN IT! Dont you have any idea what this board is about?!
Wheeling on private property and closed trails is unacceptable!
This board and its members work very hard to fight and keep the trails open. You are fighting against us by wheeling where you are not allowed. If this is the way you do things, it might be best if you find another place to hang around.

back to the topic, you can find a header with a place for the egr tube. If its not too late in your rebuild I would recomend swapping in a fuel injected 4.0
