Don't even think about doing all that work and and not putting a new throwout bearing in. Get a new friction disc and pilot bearing too. The throwout bearings are about $60 (not exactly the cheapest in terms of throwout bearings). If you buy online you'll probably be more successful searching for "release bearings."

Some people replace the pressure plate as a matter of course, but if it looks good, I'll run the old one--especially when I'm on a budget. That brings us to another thing. In recent years, it has gotten harder to find these parts as discreet items--everyone wants to sell you a kit that includes a new pressure plate, friction disc, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool.

My budget will only allow me to to the throw out bearing right now. The clutch and pressure plate were new about 50Kmiles ago. Its probably not the best but it will have to do. Ill pick up my bearing and a new trans mount today after work and hopefully I will be driving it again Tuesday or Wednesay. I miss my Jeep.

I got a new throwout bearing and put it in. I got the transmission and the tcase installed. I ordered a clutch line from advanced adapters this morning. I didn't realise I would have to use my YJ master cylinder with the TJ slave cylinder. The TJ master will not clear the brake booster without modification to the firewall. Sure is nice to be able to just pop the slave off with two bolts though.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of internal slave cylinders--bad design juju on several levels, although I'm sure it seemed very clever to someone at some point.

          Good job getting things done!

Yah. I got it in about a week ago. Advance Adapters had sent me the wrong fitting so it took a little longer than it need to. But it went right in and it drives like a champ.
