  • tf999>np231 adapter Q's

Well I was under the jeep changing out the rear seal on my T-case and was looking at the rest of the underside while i was down there.

The bolts that hold the t-case/trans mount to the adapter piece are gone. The mount is secured to the skidplate but not to the t-case/trans adpater piece.

I am not sure what bolt size fits in there. Tried 3/8nc bolts, but they were loose in the hole. Tried 10mm(fine) and they were slightly loose in the hole. Anything larger than 3/8 or 10mm wont start in the threads.

If anyone has a t-case adapter laying around and could check the size for me.

I think I am going to have to drill them out and heli-coil the adapter but want to be sure before i tear it all apart to do it. Can't see the threads themselves yet because it was getting late/dark and I haven't pulled the t-case skid off yet.

    Thanks in advance.

If there is enough meat just drill it out and tap it out to 1/2" and call it good. Is probably close to what you end up doing for the helicoils.
