I still need to pull the 30 apart to see the depth. The fun part is that my YJ is the daily driver, so I can't check the preload on the 44. It'd be great if the preload shims are the same. I just get a howl on decelerating, so that's where I'll start after I do the wheel bearings.God forgives, rocks don't

Yeah, what I've seen on Randy's site suggests that it's probably loose preload on the pinion. I'd like to see if I can tighten it up first. The other option is to get a full bearing kit and do what I need as I need it. The booger is that I know I need at least one wheel bearing. They run $40 each. Pinion bearings are $40 each. The carrier bearings are $30 each. The full kit is $160.God forgives, rocks don't

I'm just looking at bearing prices locally. Autozone seems to be the best. I'm still working on getting that ARB from my buddy. He has the full install kit to go with it. It's not the 30 I'm concerned about. I just want to get the 44 to quiet down. There is an art to modifying your daily driver.God forgives, rocks don't
