Sean has been replacing his double cardon every year. He asked the driveline shop what is wrong with his setup to make it go bad. They couldn't give him an answer.
The best answer i could pin them to was:"borderline excessive lift"
Maybe i am just hard on stuff?
An XJ will always cost you less then any girl ever will, and you will always know when the spark is gone.
I completey relate to your statement about working on the Jeep. Before I bought my Jeep, about the most I would do on a vehicle is change the oil.
Now I'm doing just about everything I can myself. I have sure learned a lot. I think the best benifit is that I feel more comfortable out on the trail knowing I have some spare parts & tools. Jeeps, well at least the CJ series are fairly easy to get to everything. Not like my full size truck where you can't see the ground when looking under the hood!

Just got the DS back from Tom Wood's. Pretty impressed with the service I received from them. Not only did it take exaclty one week (like down to the hour) from the time I mailed it to the time it was on my doorstep, but I'd asked for my old U-Joints figuring it would be a good idea to have a trail spare on had just in case, and instead of sending the old ones, TW included two new U-Joints...one 1310 and one 1330 on the house. I'll crawl under the Jeep tonight and install the DS and nose around back there to make sure everything is snug and looks in order. Hopefully this will do the trick and I don't have any other issues associated with this.

Well getting the rear DS rebuilt seemed to do the trick . . . got it installed tonight and just got back from driving around town, including a short trip on the fwy to get up to speed, and everything seems good to go. Really happy that it was just the DS and not something bigger, like the tranny or TC. Just need to put my engine skid back on and hit the trail!!!
