huge problems on the 4.0 NEED HELP

4.0 troubles....

This might sound lame, but take off the distributor cap and see if any steam (water) got into the cap...
When your engine started steaming it might have gotten into the cap and that will cause you all kinds of grief....

If it is wet in there, spray it with WD-40. WD-40 is a water dispersment agent and it will clean out the water...

so yesterday we were ganna go wheelin at bald and try out the new steering set up and i pull out of my nieghbor hood and go two blocks before my radiator exploded!!! it wasnt even up to 210 yet? and so we find the huge crack on the very top plastic. the only visible part.

we then go and get a radiator patch and some jb weld and go to town.... then we leave it and go to the mountains and i rode with a bud. later we come back down and fire it up and the crack is sealed. on the way home i make it a block and pull up to the stop sighn and my jeep turns off? wont start after toyin with it we get it to start and go. get home and it does it like 50 feet from the drivway.... but this time the engin compartment started smokin and it was really bad. open it up the actuall engine is smokin! so we push it home....

by the way all of a sudden my dash lights and spedo didnt work that day?

after finding the engines oil was fine and all was goo i figured when the rad blew fluid must have gotten into the elctrical.

by the way i just want to say i LOVE rockauto.com... life time warranty alluminum radiator by rad flo for 149. shipped!!! same one was 429 retail. and its the same one from kragens who sells it for 199 + shippin

You still need to determine the root cause of the first raditor.

Remove the raditor cap and run the engine. watch the fuild in the raditor. If your grtting any kind of bubbles you have either a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Its possible to have this condition with out any signs of water in the oil or cylinders.

Your warranty will be voided for Mechanical problems

Is there a non-plastic option for your vehicle? I'd think copper can take a beating better than plastic would. I know mine takes a beating regularly.

well for some reason when i ordered the one from rock auto my card was declined with plenty of money in it? but any ways i found a killer deal on a all aluminium one and it just got here today
