  • CJ Brake upgrade YJ booster

OK, I have a CJ, with an early YJ booster and late YJ tub.

What four wheel disk brake master cylinder will work with this setup and hopefully have the brake lines come out the drivers side.

      Disc Brakes

I have disc brakes F/R. Front on my 44 are from a 70-76 K10. Rear are from a 98 Ford Explorer. My Master Cylinder is from a early Corvett with 4 wheel disc brakes. I believe 82-84. Don't have part numbers. Hope that helps.

You have about the same setup as I have. I'm not sure about the proportioning valve. If you need the part # for the master Cyl I can hunt it down.

Called MIT today (They Installed MY Setup) They didnt have a part number but the Mastercylinder comes from an 82 Corvette with power booster. The power booster matches the vehicle it is going on. The proportioning valve is disbaled. MIT in El Cajon or VanCo in the LA area are good sources. I got my replacement when my Master Cyl. went out from NAPA. They looked up by vehicle 82 Corvette and got one from the shelve.
It was so long ago I no longer have the paper work. Hope that helps.

I also used an external slave cyl from an 80 CJ5. (Advance Adapters)

                        Cool, thanks.
I went on autozone.com and they only show one M/C for an '82 Vette.

When I had to replace mine because it developed an internal leak I went to Napa with the info I gave you and they went through their books. Of course I had the sample in my hands. Maybe the photo and info will be enough.

Well the 82 vette master does not fit my booster. I have an older style (1990), maybe that is the difference. The bolts holes are off slightly, but the push rod is off by about an inch.
I looked on autozone.com and the 1990&1993 yj have the same master cyclinder. Hmmmm
