New fire in Arrowhead

Even if it was, all the roads up the mountain are closed to anyone not a resident right now. See my post in the Land Use section.

Both the "Arrowhead" and the "Grass Valley" are quite a distance from John Bull, and both are burning to the south west (away from Big Bear). But as Old Fart stated, the mountain is closed to incoming traffic. Hopefully soon....

As of 1800 tonight, the SBNF is closed to ALL recreational use.

From my house off Main Street in Hesperia, I can see flames along the whole ridge line looking towards Arrowhead. I know it's a long ways off, but it still looks scary.

Yesterday on the plane we had a great view of all the fires and devastation. The last thing on my mind was our trails...all the families losing their homes and precious memories is just overwhelming! We had one family with us from the marathon who have 4 children and a home in Running Springs..they were sitting on the plane seeing all the fires, trying to figure out how to find all their children and where they were gonna stay. Right now, I think helping our friends & families thru this is more important then whether a trail is open or not.

Johnson Valley, Stoddard Wells, Calico, Dumont Dunes, Glamis, Ocotillo Wells, Truckhaven....it's not the end of the world for us and our sport. However, all those people who are losing everything...my heart goes out to them right now. The last thing on my mind is worrying about where to wheel. In fact, I am going thru my closets and camping gear for items to donate such as tents, air mattresses, blankets, clothes, etc.

why don't you ask that @55hole on the DIRTBIKE they caught lighting a fire up by Arrowhead this morning!?
