  • My new 88' YJ

Hey everyone havent been around in a while. I just picked up a 88 YJ for really cheap and am looking forward to getting it out on the trails with you guys

    Here are the specs:

    1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ
    5 speed, 4.2l 6 cyl engine
D44 Rear with lock-rite locker and 488 gears
D30 Front with detroit locker and 488 gears
6 inch Rubicon Express Suspention lift
    33x12.50 Courser Mud Terrains
Underbelly skid plates and rock sliders

Some mandatory Jeep stacking in my driveway

The D44 axle shafts are busted so those need to be replaced and then it should be good to go. Im not sure where the rear axle came from, can anyone help me out on identifying it?

My plans for it as of now are to get some 35-37in Swampers, herculine the interior, take off the top and doors and then cruise/wheel it.

Can someone help me identify what kind of rear axle this is so I can order some new shafts. I tryed to find the BOM # from this chart but they dont match. Where it says the date should be it has "5 3 44" and where it says the BOM # is it has "2169"

              Thanks.

Nice rigs... as for the axle where are they "busted"? as if you could always take the measurement from the splines on the good axle, add that length to the broken one and then take it to Alloy axle/Drivetrain direct/currie to get an axle made or stock replacement from them. hope it helps and we'll see you on the trails soon!
