Hello all. I have been a member here for a while but since I mostly am a XJ guy I have spent way too much time and resources on a forum that is more geared just towards XJ's.
Thought I would come back over here and spend some more time and lurk a bit more on MJR. I have had alot of customers find me from over here and get recommended to me from members here. SO its only fair that I give back somehow.
In any case. I have/had a XJ buggy. It still sits in my driveway. But it is no longer what it once was: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdooXbuPTY8 that was almost the last revision of it. It did get bigger tires and beadlocks, before it was reduced to almost nothing.
About 2 months ago me and a buddy heard about King of The Hammers and how they are opening a Stock class. we thought ummm.. We can use his jeep XJ and just repair a few items and reduce a few things to make it legal. SO I paid for him to be my driver of record and we jumped in to a plan.
That plan was just to get the Great companies I have always trusted and know make the best of the best in thier expertise. Yukon Gear & Axle, and Rock Krawler. With those two we would just rebuild his XJ with JK D44 axles under it and give it hell.
Well it became clear that to really have a chance at finishing and actually being a bit competitive, we really do need alot more then his jeep with some revisions. And our competitive sides took over.
So now we are scrambling to get this far enough along to have it at off road expo, Yukon has already got it a spot, and I will be manning the Yukon Gear & Axle booth for Yukon, with a buddy and my salesman from yukon.
Without getting in to the full KOHXJ build I wanted to just say hello again... And to see where would be the most appropiate section to do a write up for a KOH build here at MJR?
We look forward to being one of the top 2-3 builds for the stock class, and to make Gerald and John eat our dust :-)
And Thank you:
Yukon Gear & Axle
Rock Krawler Suspension
Goodyear

Hotwire Auto
