Hello, just bought a 89 jeep wrangler and cant wait to go off roadin in it. Its stock for now, so I dont think I can do much, but Im going to read the tips here and hopefully join you on some trail runs. I need to get out and get some fresh air, tired of this concrete jungle.

Come up to Big Bear for the trail cleanup this Saturday and you'll learn alot. I'm new to MJR, and getting reaquainted with Jeeps as I went about 10 years without one.

I just bought a '94 YJ; you'd be shocked at what that stock Jeep can do.

www.jeeppatrol.net if you want to sign up for the Big Bear event on Saturday, there is also a thread about it under the "Pitch A Tent" section.

Welcome to MJR. I had a YJ for 15 years. You'll be able to do a lot with it. After the standard 1st upgrades of a lift and tires, add things to your jeep that held you with control. A rear locker is a great start. If you can afford it I'd go with a 4 to1 T-case upgrade. The less your bouncing around and mashing on the skinny peddle. The less likely you are to break something. Then, when your Jeep is "under control" get the cool bumpers and diff covers. My philosophy is, if it doesn't improve my jeep's ability on the trail it wasn't an upgrade I needed. But thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Check out quadratech.com and 4wd.com. You'll get alot of ideas there.
It was like that when I got here.

Welcome aboard! Stock Jeeps are the most capable off-road vehicle made. You just need to come out and wheel. I hope to meet you on the trails soon.
