  • Hi from Washington

I used to live in Adelanto, Apple Valley, San Berdoo, Las Vegas and now WA. Some family still in El Monte, mom in Vegas. Many years of dirt biking, wheeling and skiing Big Bear, Cayote Canyon once, winters with ATVs at Desert Center, and sportbike riding the twisties. I sure miss the desert in the winter, but you can't beat the skiing here. The trails here in the summer are plentyful and awesome, over 11,000 miles on my dirtbike alone! Got the Jeep 3 years ago. Bike don't get ridden much now. I look forward to seeing more of your trip reports.

Nice looking Jeep. I am sure it is a lot more fun in the winter than the dirt bike.

"This was about half the trail on the Lower Mad Riv"

What's up with this pic? Is that an abandoned Jeep in the bushes or is that what you guys call a "trail" up there in WA???

The whole trail wasn't like this, but definately "A" LEVEL. I've only ridden it once so far. This trail got wiped out months after we rode it by a fall/winter storm. It follows a river thru a steep canyon. There were hidden boulders and logs in the brush that we kept getting thumped about by. We had to chainsaw 6 logs, I got heat exhaustion near the end, and we dented and broke a few things. Took all day to ride 11 miles in 90+ heat! The Greenies tried to have it closed, but it's rebuild should be open this year. They rerouted the trail from what parts ran on the left bank, now run on the right and vice versa. Dirtbike and Jeep trails here are 2nd to none!

I can't believe how awesome a TJ's heater is. If it didn't rain so much, I could run topless with the doors on and windows up!

You have doors for the winter? Lucky!

Thanks, 3 sets of doors. Full, Half, OR Fab tube. I'm selling the tube after buying the half. The weather is so finicky. It can be cold or wet on the way to work or the trails in the summer, but when we get to the east side, be warm and sunny. Then when we go back at o'dark 30, be wet or cold again. Half doors will now let me have the best of both worlds. Also have a wraparound windjammer for the same reasons.
