CJ7 dana 44 rear end

Does anyone have a dana 44 rear end I can buy? I broke my dana 20 twice now in the last few months and dont want to go through that again... Or can you suggest a good place to pick one up?

Ever think about putting a Ford 8.8 in there? They are going for about $200 right now and there are tons of them.

Local junk yard. The best ones came out of Ford Explorers. What gears are you running?

just the stock gears.... but want to upgrade to 4.56 - ford explorer huh.. do they bolt right up or willm i need to modify it?

You need to move the spring hangers but that’s an easy job. One of the best things about 8.8s is you can get them in stock gears to match your front axle without regearing. I don’t think you’ll find one with 4.56 gears. But If you want to find a HP30 with 4.10 gears you’ll have no trouble finding an 8.8 to match.
