  • Hello from a fellow Jeeper

I've been a lurker here, but a regular on www.earlycj5.com under the same name.
I'm a native Riversider, and was born into Jeeps.( Hill-N-Gully Riders, circa 1960-1970.)
    My Jeep is a 1947 CJ2A/225/T90/D18/D30/D44/Warn OD/5:38s.
It's equipped with P/S and powerlocks in both differentials, riding on 33s, homebrew lift.
Truckhaven, the Ords, Big Bear and the El Pasos are some of my favorite areas.
I drive the Jeep most anywhere, usually with a Bantam in tow.
I'm married and with my wife of almost 20 years (July22) have a 16 year old daughter (back off..lol).
We all enjoy Jeeping, camping, and the great outdoors.
I was drawn to your site by your activity in my local Jeeping areas.
It's nice to see a group that's active in so many different ways.
Hopefully, I will join you all on a run, that is if you'll let an old flatty and an old driver come along.
    See you on the trails.....

I too am a long time poster on EarlyCJ5 as I have a 69 CJ5 similarly equipped to your flatty. I have really enjoyed this MJR group and I think you will also. Old doesn't seem to be a problem here. They have been very welcoming to me and I'm lots older than you.

Great CJ-2A!!!!! Welcome aboard. I'm a CJ guy myself although it's a "newer" one.

Great to have you join up!

                Welcome!

How 'bout a pic of the Bantam?

                Civilian or military model?

                  it's a civilian model
it's registered on Robert Bills site for Bantams.
it has a 15gal water tank underneath, with a 12v RV pump, and a motorcycle battery up front in the box. When camping, without showers, we can go about 1 week if we conserve water; wash hair, sponge baths included. (This would be remote camping)
The fiberglass cap is custom made, and increases the load carrying capacity for all of our camping stuff.
It lifts off and has folding legs that pop down to keep it off the ground; it's secured by 4 ratchet straps, 2 on each side.
The cap weighs about 80-90 lbs, takes to people to easily install/remove.
Last year Jeep and trailer made it over Red Lake/Coyote Lake trail up by Shaver Lake, Fresno county I believe.
I've towed the trailer to Colorado and back several times with the Jeep.

anyways, thanks for the welcomes !

Im sure that Jeep drives much better with the trailer than it does without.

                        Jim,

Hope we get a chance to meet soon. After 2 years of PM's, it seems that we speak the same language! Lets get together when it cools down a little bit (if that matters to you). Welcome to MJR.

Welcome to MJR. Nice Cj and trailer combo. Must be a fun trail run knowing you have the portable house along with ya.
