  • Oh this is a jeep forum...

See the thing is, I was switched at birth. I was supposed to get a Jeep but was given a Toyota pickup by mistake. Some consider it a disability but I don't. I wont let it win. Even if it requires a solid axel swap and a second transfer case. The real deal is, i just want to get out on the trail. I would really like to do some trail maintenance. I think it is satisfying and worth while work. I really like my Toyota pickup and have considered buying a Cj. Maybe I would be happier with a CJ8. I just really like having a bed. For now though, I plan on having fun and helping keep our OHV trails open and free.

Hey there Mr. Toyota... I'll be glad to help when you put that solid axle in your IFS truck.

Nice driving on the "medium" section of 4S21 today. Unfortunately the only snow I saw today was you...

Welcome to MJR. I see you are considering buying a CJ. I have to tell you that I've owned just about every kind of 4x4 made since 1974. I have had more fun with my old Jeep than all the others put together. I can't explain why, but that's the way it is.. I've talked to other Jeep owners that feel the same as I do.

Howdy OU812, many of my friends are Toyota owners, and I attended the Dirty Toy School event last weekend in Anza Borrego. Pretty fun: http://nwoods.smugmug.com/Land%20Rover/380372

Cool another Chevy guy. That's a nice project you got. I fully restored my CJ and put a chevy motor in it. Best of both worlds.

I'll poast some pics when I get home from work. I am driving to chula vista with Materdaddy to pick up an 85 4runner solid axel today. FYI to the toyota owners, I work at a toyota dealership and can look up factory specs and nation wide dealer device history. Let me know.

                              looking for a YJ 4.0L

So I've been doing A LOT of homework and making plans to build a crawler out of my toyota pickup. It will however require a solid axle swap and eventually a different motor for me to be happy. So I decided that if I want a solid axle and a better motor I should just buy a Jeep. So that is what I am going to do. I will have to sell the Toyota first because I am out of driveway with my 53 Chevy and my toyota pickup and the wife's 4Runner. So if anyone sees a deal on a clean YJ for less then 5K please let me know.
