Wow! I actually get to be the first to welcome a new comer.
Welcome to MJR, you landed in a great place. If you want to run trails other Orange county, check the boards here, there are always runs going on somewhere.
    Have fun,
    Kurt

Hi all! I've had my JK for over a year and absolutely love it. Been on a couple trails but not enough LOL I'll have to find some pics to post up, done a little modding but nothing much. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Jeep chicks RULE! I tried Silverado to Santiago Peak the other day and the gate was still closed. Rumor central tells me that it's due to re-open in October. Santiago Creek trail is a fun one. Definitely not technical but there are mild technical offshoots and a whole lot of trees and nature and crap like that. A couple of shallow water crossings and a couple of turnouts if you want to get your feet wet in the creek. It ends at a hiking trail that will REALLY take you into the boonies if you're so inclined.

Welcome to MJR You're going to love it here . . . lots of great people that love to wheel and are more than willing to help a fellow jeeper out. Hope you come out and join us on some of the runs . . . there's almost always something happening on here, and if there's not, post up a thread and I'm sure there will be others ready to join in on the fun!

As others have mentioned . . . Jeep CHICKS RULE!!! Sure would be nice to see more ladies out on the trial . . . it's usually like a picklefest out there

I actually got to run Santiago a week before the fires and cant wait to go up there again as I have a little more experience now and can do those little turnouts you talk about. October is just around the corner and that would be really cool to get up there.

Since Trabuco was so close I used to go there a lot but not anymore as it's off limits really. Would love to get to Cleghorn sometime soon, neverbeen there.

                    Where do you all go?

This time of year, the mountains seem to be the best place to beat the heat. Big Bear offers a lot of options as far as level of difficulty, is very scenic, and about 20*+ or so cooler than the desert. Check out the trail report section as there are write ups on just about every trail up there. You can also pick up Charles Wells book "SoCal Backroads & 4 Wheel Drive Trails"

Yah, Big Bear is another place I'd like to venture. I'll keep a lookout for runs on here, I'll probably go more once the weather is cooler. Thanks for all the info. Very cool!

Welcome Rangleme, I like your name! Cleghorn is a great trail and not too hot, and it's close by. Lots of photos of it on my website: http://blog.nextstepdesigns.com/?cat=14

Cleghorn is a popular trail. All you gotta do to get a run together is to post on the Trail Runs thread. Lots of folks will be willing to accompany you.

One of the good things about Cleg' is that if you don't think that the side trail is what you are ready for, you can by-pass it for the next side trail.

Cleghorn is VERY close to me so if I can make the date, I will be happy to join you.
