When I bought my jeep the dealer had installed the kit. It was a Rough Country 4" kit, the one with fixed CA's. It is the most inexpensive 4" available. RC claims that their CA's are the toughest, and they are, they will tear the CA brackets right off the axle housing. They severely restrict all twisting on or off road. With no ability to twist "on road" they provided a very harsh rigid ride and "off road" greatly limited the flex. The arms that came with the kit had destroyed the rubber bushings in 18 months. The factory CA's had much more ability to twist in any situation on or off road.
So yes, it is the arms them selves and not just the angle that is a major factor. Naturally a long arm is a better kit, I just don't have an $3500 laying around for it right now.
