Hello to all! Just learned about this site and like what I read. Hope to meet some of you in the coming months. I spend most of my time in the Mojave desert but venture into the local mountains to cool off as necessary.

    Happy trails!

    Hey Dirt Ball,

There's a bunch of great folks here. Kinda weird though, they spend tons of money on their jeep just to see if they can break it!! I wouldn't do that myeslf though....

Not all of us try to break things!

I drive mine to work every day so I can't do that! But that's why I know what trails to stay away from!

I sure don't. I'm still feeling the repercussions from the restoration. The last thing I want to do is break it and then tell the wife…”I need more money”. :haha:

Dirtball, what a great handle! Welcome to MJR!
I don't think we go out with breaking parts in mind, we look for big rocks that haven't been climbed and climb them, or attempt to. If something breaks, oops! Rock Gods...
Hell, I have money coming out the wazoo, don't you?? I planted a money tree...

Thanks for the warm welcome. I try not to break my jeep either. I am the original owner and expect my '93 YJ to be around for many years to come. At present it has 186,000 miles on it and it has yet to let me down. My approach is to spend the money preventing breakdown and trying to wheel within my limits and that of my Jeep. I like hiking but prefer to do it as a matter of choice rather than out of necessity! I am in the early planning stages of a camping / wheeling trip for New Years week. May be in the Mojave or Imperial Sand Dunes. Hope to meet some of you soon.

              Best regards,

Try to break things....................NEVER. Try to do as much as possible without breaking...............ALWAYS. Unfortunately there is a very fine line between the two.
                Welcome to MJR.
I've been told I have rocks in my head.

Welcome to MJR! There seems to be a lot of Jeeps in Hesperia lately. Hope to see you around town and on the trail.
