If anyone gets a chance, check out the Victorville "Daily Press" High Desert section from Saturday Oct 20th. There is a good sized article about the recommended $851,000 for repairs and rehab for the Butler 2 burn area. The article also discusses CLOSURES OF MOST OF THE DIRT ROADS TO THE PUBLIC AND ERECTING FENCES AND ROCK BARRIERS TO KEEP OUT OFF_HIGHWAY VEHICLES. If they close trails, it could be a long time before they get opened up again (if they do!).

Here is a link to the Butler 2 fire recovery article. After the 2002 Old Fire, the area was closed for two years!
