so, has anyone ran this trail? my buddy bought a '01 tacoma and wants to test out his lift.

in my book it says moderate and should take a 1-2 hours. any real world experience on it?

probably gonna try and go play in the obstacle course and such after this trail.

I do not know that trail, but if the trail is in Hungry Valley, and is listed as moderate (blue square), then it should be very easy. My experience with Hungry Valley is that they are very conservative with the trail ratings.

well, i assume it's in Hungry Valley. For a map, my book just states to get a map of Hungry Valley.

did this trail today along with a couple other. really easy trails. pronghorn had a spot where the trail ended at a spine ontop of a hill and an immediately 90 degree turn that was about 45 degrees down. that was quite fun.

the obstacle course is fun too. did the sluice setup and step up obstacle.

i wanted to play on the tetter totter, but it was only open to the fright night attendees.

also, they had a bunch of dirt bikes and quads buzzing around. i actually got into a hishap with one dude.
i was coming down the trail with a blind corner to the left. a guy on a quad was flying through as i was
coming around. i pulled away just a little while he steered into the trail and we both missed the collision
headon. But, he ended up hitting the side of my jeep. His tire scrapped up my rocker panel and his handle bar/brake
put a big 7 inch dent/scrape into my door. The guy didn't even apologize. He just re-started his quad a patched out.

i sorta didn't know what to do. i mean, it doesn't seem like it was anyones fault. but, it's like i got the short end of the stick.

what kind of action should i take, if this were to happen again?

I dunno man it sounds like a "clean yer shorts" encounter for the dude on the quad.

This is the problem we Jeepers have with the ATV/Biker crowd, I know alot of people jeep and have bikes, but they know better. Just a few weeks ago my sis was running her jeep on a strret legal only dirt road up in BB and a couple of dirtbikes came around a blind corner on her. what do you do? they are at fault, so if you kill them I thik you would be ok, but when they mess up your junk, like what happened to you, I think your hit.

I mean you don't really want to turn it into your insurance and play that game. The biker should pay for it, but he was prolly drunk and an idiot. besides the whole taking off thing...

Chicks dig scars dude, I think you should dream up a good story and run with it...

yeah...tell them that you beat the heck outta him and that's from the helmet....

The only thing I ever heard about this, is honk around a corner....but after that...it's up to a ranger to decide.

I got hit by a park utility truck on the entrance ( Smokey Bear ) Didn't even get into the park. The only reason he stopped, is because I had a friend in my Jeep, as well as one Jeep behind me. And then I Ranger just happened to drive by.
My Jeep was DOA at this point. He hit my front left tire, bending leaf, pushing driveline into T-Case, effectively cracking T-case open. I rode home in tow truck... Bad day.

What am I trying to say here??? Don't know really, off road rules are a lot different. It all boils down to personality, and morals. Depends on the drunkin a holes who are at fault, admit it and own up to what they did.
If you run into this again, ( forgive the pun ) try to get as best a description as possible, and tell a ranger...the least they can do is cite the rider, if you can find them....
One of the bikes is bound to have some of your paint on it...

Unfortunately, Hungry valley has more quads and bikes than Jeeps, so you are out numbered there. Plus, they are able to ride those trails much quicker...
Next time you go through there....just lay on your horn around EVERY corner....it's the least we can do to TRY and avoid them...

I think it's my turn for a bailout....what do you think?

thanks for the tips. so far the stereotype of the 'bro' seems to be true, a-holes that think they own the trail.
