  • Sat 9/15 - Big Bear

Wanted to see if anyone would be interested in running Heartbreak Ridge in Big Bear this weekend. There are a few of us here on MJR that would like to get up there (:hijack: . . . sorry Russ!). Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the trail or experienced enough to lead, so for this run to be a go, we'll need someone who is. I've also heard great things about White Mountain and would love to get up there too!

For those of you who have been thru Heartbreak . . . how difficult is the trail in comparison with Holcomb, John Bull, Dishpan? Should I be okay in my mostly stock Rubi?

I will know tomorrow but it shouldn't be a problem. Are you going to start at Rattlesnake Canyon?
    Check out .

      Joe-
You will be fine in a stock Rubi. Have fun.

        Yo Schmo,

If you cruise up Rattlesnake Canyon to Heartbreak you can count me in. When you turn off for Heartbreak at 2N61Y I'll keep going on 2N02 to Baldwin Lake to 3N16 to 3N14 back to Apple Valley. It should be a little cooler on Saturday!

That sounds good to me . . . I haven't been thru Rattlesnake Cyn, so I'll just need to know where to go/meet. A couple of us tried to find the trailhead for Rattlesnake a few weeks ago but we ended up in a riverbed that definitely didn't fit the moderate rating that Wells has it listed at!

I'll be in Cabo sipping margaritas! Wish I could go!
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

The Chevron station in Lucerne Valley on Hwy 18 is a good meeting place and is about 20 minutes from the trail head. I know how to get to the trail from there.

Shouldn't be to hard to find. I think it would be a good idea to start there.

If those margaritas have anything other than Sammy's Cabo Wabo tequila in them, your FIRED!

New to MJR but this sounds like a great run. You can count me in! Just wondering what time and if the meeting place is the chevron station on Hwy 18?

We were just seeing if there was interest, which obviously there is so a time and meeting place will be posted shortly. The meeting location Great88 posted sounds good and will probably be the place.
