  • 2N17X - Grudge Match!

    Yes, It's a GRUDGE MATCH!

Mr. Green has been defeated by the Pilot Fuelbreak Trail for too long! Although he has run this trail many times, he has yet to conquer the middle hill trial. Now that it is the ONLY choice besides the bypass (Booo! Hisss!), it is a MORAL IMPERATIVE the he try again!

Will he make it or will he continue to suffer defeats like this:

And even though he technically has made it down the trail, the trip was interrupted with events like this:

Come see the challenge! Join in the joy of victory or the agony of defeat!

But you gotta be willing to start early. The first round bell rings at 8am on Saturday Aug. 4th.

The plan is to run to the top of the Pilot Fuelbreak, then play on the V-notch at Pilot Rock, and then head back down 2N17X to the Silverwood Dam. I need to leave the area by noon, but everyone can travel on if they like, or play on Cleghorn for a while. Especially since Sharon can't join me for this run, I'd just like to have folks around if the Fuelbreak wins again!

We will meet at the Silverwood Dam parking area at 8am. Please post if you are interested, so that I know to wait for you if needed.

Just got off the phone with my Son, and he's going to come out also. So there will be two of us to help, if you get into trouble, Kevin.

Excellent! It's appropriate, since you two were along when I pulled my last bone-head move! :haha:

It looks like Max7 will be joining in the fun as well.

Hi Rick! It would be great if you could go. It's on the far side of the SB Forest for you so I don't know if coming in from the High Desert or from down below would be better. The Silverwood Lake is at the junction of the western end of 173 and US 138. The Dam entrance (that was for Steelman!)is off 173 on the south side of the road.

I'll try to post a map when I get home from work. Unless, someone would be kind enough to beat me to it

I should be able to find it with those directions.....but if you can post a map anyway......I have a friend that is going to meet me there. He'll ride with me. He lives in Hespiera, so he kinda knows where the meeting place is at. I'm coming from Palm Desert...taking 10 to 30 to 215 to 15 to 138 east to 173 and I'll find it from there...BTW I'm in unless some last min. change.

Hey Mike, Can't stay long, I've got a Camaro to finish, but I wanted to make sure you will be all right. Planning to go on the run in Big Bear Sunday with the Misses, Kevin.

Cool Rick! Looking forward to running with you again. I can't seem to get the Mapquest link to work properly. But if you follow the directions that you plan to, when you turn onto 173 from 138 (Left Turn), you will go through two 90 degree turns and then you will pass the dam on the right. After you pass the dam, go a little further and look for the standard USFS Brown sign for the Silverwood Dam and recreation area on the right. The road goes up hill and bears to the right during the climb. The parking area is at the end of the road.

                        See ya in the AM....

Hey no problem. I don't think that I will be alone for this one so feel free to bail anytime that you want. I really appreciate that you wouldn't let me try this alone. Thanks Man!

I need to be off the trail early too. Too many things going on this weekend!
