Sounds like a great long weekend on lots of trails that I'd like to explore. Unfortunately, I am obligated to be in Lancaster all of Saturday and part of Sunday.

I'm sure that you will have lots of fun. I'm looking forward to the trail report.

Tracy and I left Norco at 1pm on Friday July 27. The last trip up the hill with the camper and trailer we took Hwy 38 and the rig pulled the hill just fine. This trip we took Hwy 330 and crawled up at 25 mph using every turnout to let traffic pass. We arrived at YP1 at 4pm and found it empty. We set up camp and watched the full moon rise before calling it a day.

jc met us in camp on Saturday morning and we hit the trail at 10pm. We ran 3N14, 3N12, 2N13, 2N54, 2N13D, 2N19 and 2N19C.

We met some horses and a wagon on 3N14

We found a really cool spring on 2N13

A big tree was blocking this spur off 2N13

The trip up 2N13D Crafts Peak was a blast.

And the views from the top are fabulous.

      Looking towards Big Bear

      and looking towards Lake Arrowhead

And Butler Peak Fire Lookout Tower in the background

      jc on Crafts Peak

      Back to camp at 5pm.

On Sunday 4 Cherokees met on Hatchery Rd. We drove 2N93, 2N27, 2N02 and 2N04

      God's Eye Rock

      Playing around at Rose Mine.

      Back at camp at 10pm.

Monday Tracy drove 3N93 Holcomb Creek Trail and 2N06X Lower Larga. This was her first time driving these trails and she did a great job.

Back at camp at 1pm. Home at 4:30pm.

We saw a Bobcat and a Bald Eagle. We saw the Bald Eagle flying over Holcomb Creek. It was amazing.

Another fabulous weekend in the SBNF

Holy Smoke! You would certainly know if it was a good weekend in the SBNF since you covered pretty much all of it! Great report!

Looks like Tracy had fun on Holcomb (you might be out of a job  It's okay, spotting and taking photos is a lot of fun too!)

So where is God's Eye Rock? And Dude! That's one damn big tree! Is that the little spur near where 2N13D meets 2N13?

          Yes it is.

And we drove 2N13D and did not find the trail blocked.

nice write up and great pics
we were up there for the weekend, had a mixed group of 6 Jeeps and 2 Toyotas, went down to the big pine flats area and started poking around all those trails you never seem to get down. Had a blast just exploring the area, then while doing a hill climb off of the 2n99 area the mountain gave way under the left side of the jeep and we needed to get another jeep up for a recovery, that jeep lost it's fuel pump once in position and we had to rig a gravity feed fuel system for it, meanwhile Ihad to grig my winch to keep the TJ from sliding down, all in all it took 3 hours to get me out of there and back down, then a trip to apple valley for a fuel pump. got back to Hanna flats covered in grease and feeling good I still had a jeep.
Hilight of the trip was poking around lod mining claims u on 3n16H on friday afternoon, a medium trail with a lot of history around it. Good times
