So before it got too hot I decided to head on out to the desert for a day of fun on the trails. I knew a group was going to be out but wasn't sure if I was going to be able to meet up with them.

First time I've gotten stuck in Carrizo Creek :-/

But of course, I had my High-Lift jack to help me out. A few well placed rocks under the tire and I was good to go!

    I'm free!!!

Next into Arroyo Seco Del Diablo Canyon, down the drop off, into Fish Creek and Sandstone Canyon.

    Meeting some like-minded individuals.

    Thanks for the invite, blackZZR!

Now on up to Coyote Canyon.

Nice pics, that creek is a stinker to get stuck in.

The stage used to stop about a mile up into it just before the bombing range area.

Thanks. Yes it was! I guess a few folks had gotten stuck there, diggin' a deeper hole. The state park had actually built a bypass around it but I missed it. Last I was there the stage stop was pretty much gone; just a pile of debris. I did run into a few rattlesnakes, though!

Yea, we had fun, Sorry you could not spend the night in sheeps canyon, we had a nice potluck dinner, found some mountain lion tracks tracking a sheep going into Salvador canyon, so the next morning before leaving I went that way and after a 2 hour hike found a area where a fresh kill had been done, scuffled ground and fur tufts, then the eveidence of dragging the kill up the hill. I stopped at the discovery center on the way out and reported the kill so they could get their Sheep guy up there to verify and record it.
Anyway, It was a blast of a run, and suppling bolts to the Toyota who dropped a control arm only makes the day more fun teasing the guy about his Heepota.

The last time I was out at Anza was when the space shuttle re-entered the atmosphere the wrong way.....We watched it fly over head in pieces........That was a few years ago.
Both my son & I miss that area and fondly remember the trip. One day.........

That looks like it was a fun run. How were the temps? I need to get out there before it gets too hot. I think I saw the white YJ on mast the other day. Silver XJ headed west, you were headed east.

That is too cool. Next time for sure. I've seen sheep up in there before, haulin' butt away from me, though. Always running into those lion tracks. Last October, quail hunting up in the Jacumba mountains, I was hiking back to my jeep and found tracks- over mine! That was scary. Saturday up at the end of the canyon we found sheep tracks along the creek. Good times. Love them Jeepotas! hehe
