  • morning/day run to Bronco Peak

Just thought I would check to see if anyone feels like meeting up for a day run up to Bronco Peak and Sidewinder. There was a little bit of rain up there so it should be great conditions. Im just taking a my roomates for a little fun on the trail before a Padre game later. So let me know if you feel like meeting up for a little fun.
I would like to be at the trail around 9:30 or 10am

    Directions are pretty easy.

Sounds cool. I have that day off- I'll see if I can make it.

Last time I was at CC I was stock on 30's. Now we have a 2.5" and on 33's with disco's. We'll see what the difference is. Last time I think I was on Sidewinder only. Or was it Gunslinger? I don't know- what ever the lowest rated Jeep sized trail was...

Be sure to stay on the trails which are open. They are strickly enforcing and will ticket or tow away your rig for wheeling in the closed off burned areas.

Theres still enough to have fun in ..enjoy

double checking though. Basically where it is fenced off is a NO NO right? I mean the trail is pretty obvious in most parts. Should be fun, I didnt go all the way through on either trail but would like to do them both all the way through.

The areas not yet fenced are closed with gates and stated so. The areas open that are burned will have fence, dont go around it. The trails are obvious and easily seen.

Have fun stay out of the poison oak..scratch itch...

ok thats what it was like when i went last time, sounds good!

Poison oak!!??? no way! that stuff can really ruin a week or two.

lil story: went through some Poison oak and didnt catch up to me for a week, It started breaking out after i flipped off a quad at pismo and ran my leg over. The tire irritated the rash and made it hell!! never want that again!

for any of you that are interested, the trail was awesome! Was at the very end of Bronco Peak trail when another jeeper was coming up the beggining(or end). He had a pretty good looking rig with D44 f/r Fabtech Long arm and some 37 inchs Iroks!! didnt even make it to the first hill climb and busted a u-joint taking out his out stub, and snapped his rear Bilstein shock in two, meanwhile almost rolled it over. Watching this unfold made me realise I DO NOT want to do 37s on such a short wheelbase jeep.

I made it through the same spot no prob with my 33s

Any pics? I spent yesterday figuring out how to mount my spare- I would've loved to go out there with you guys but needed to get the spare back on the Jeep.

The Roughwheelers went down and ran Bronco peak and Sidewinder this week-end, great wheelin, then you do the trails in the opposite direction. Now that is fun,,,

on this jeep 37s was definitly too much for this guy to handle. |Besides his driving finess the suspension(fabtech) did not flex well at all. |It was just really stiff and the |COG was way to high. 37s would be ideal for me but stronger axles and long arm with same height. |I wish i woulda got pics. |If anyone wants to run this trail on fridays |I am always down! going backwards on the trail could be fun also! im game
