COYOTE CANYON NIGHT RUN / CAMPING TRIP – SAT. OCT. 7th
The plan is to meet at the Christmas circle located in Borrego Springs at 6pm. We will head out at 6:30pm toward the trail head. Once there we can air down. The first part is the easiest but nice and scenic. There is some light water fording a little over half way with a small "rock garden" after. There may not even be any water as this trail is closed for the summer untill Oct.1st so we will have to see. The "rock garden" part is not hard but just makes the trail a little more fun.
From there its a short drive to Sheep Canyon campground. This is a primative campsite and the place we will be spending the night (note: the only way to reach this site is by Coyote Canyon Trail). Once we get there we set up camp. For those that are up for it, we will be heading back to the rock area and we can run it down to the water crossing and back up again just for fun. After that we go back to camp and just camp out for the night.
This is a fun trail, good for novice to moderate wheelers. Bring the kids for some good early fall camping. It should be a great night as it will be a full moon!! Please have at minimum a CB, tow points front and rear, tow strap
