The canyon is about 3 hr drive from the Mexicali border. Most likely slower if trailing something. The ride is about 70 miles. Once off hwy 2 the maintained dirt road is 37 miles long to the canyon and about 2 hrs depending how much you goof around on it. Lots of spurs going places
Trip temperature 85
You will need to hang a U at the turn off (if going west on 2) come back about 500ft to the turn off.

The camp ground. It is owned by an American who lives in Brawley. I believe his grand father bought it sometime ago. There is no Music allowed in the camp ground unless you rent the whole thing.
Camping sites are primitive to semi. They have these "Cabanas" scattered throughout the place. Each contains a table , sometype of covered building and a small home made rock pool which is filled with real hot water from the springs, also a barbeque grill. There is a small store to get basics and bathrooms. No electric. There are pools to wade in which are cold some water falls lots of hiking. Its a place to set back and relax. It was full of older retired Americans .
The catch is the cost. Weekends will run 65 dollars a day per car of 4. Weekdays is 25. Reservations are required they sell all the time. While there lots of the locals came and left because of the price.
CAMP CLOSES IN MAY
Out side the camp ground is plenty of places to trash your rig and go exploring.
