  • Rowher Trail - Sat, Mar 25

Sean Mikel and I ran the Rowher trail near Santa Clarita, CA on Saturday, March 25, 2006. We started from the Staging Area in the Rowher Flats OHV area, and headed north toward Bouquet Canyon. We soon caught up to a group of Land Rovers playing on a hill:

After the group cleared the hill, Sean drove his ZJ up the hill:

    and down:

and back up using a different route:

While playing on the hill, we were joined by Travis and Janet in his YJ, and they decided to join us. Sean’s ZJ is in the lead, followed by Travis and Janet’s YJ:

We met a group of Hummers going in the opposite direction:

I don’t know why this one has his rear doors open; it must be a Hummer thing:

We took a break when we reached the top of the ridge to enjoy the view:

That’s Bouquet Reservoir at the bottom of the hill:

Then we continued down the Bouquet Canyon side of the hill:

The hill was pretty steep in places:

Sean’s left front tire fell into a hole, and I had to attach a strap to steady him until he could get back on even ground. I was too busy to take a picture while I had the strap on him.

Sean descending the final section of the hill:

Once we reached the Bouquet Canyon trailhead, we turned around and returned the way we came:

Although the trail was rutted and steep in places, a stock Jeep (with some spotting and careful tire placement) can make it through without much difficulty.

Nice pics, we haven't been out that way in a long time.
