Has MJRs done the Jamboree as a group before? If so will it again this year?:confused2

Have you had a negative experience?

I though it would be a good 3 day immersion in jeep culture.

With all the Big Bear experience on this site I guese paying someone else to show you around the trails up there makes no sense.

What about a guy like me still discovering BB, is it worth it?

      Opinions Anyone????

No negative experience just seems a lot of money. My first thoughts on seeing the price was all the upgrades/mods I could buy with $500 (assuming 2 adults).

If you are wanting to attend a Jeep sponsored event then do it. BUT if you are just wanting to hit the trails in BB I would pass. You will find tons of BB runs here once all that white stuff goes away

        That is my .02

From what I've heard, these events cost money because you can show up with your Jeep and a change of clothes. Everything else, including food and any tools to be borrowed, is covered by the event staff. I think it would be better to go on one that is farther away and in more un-familiar territory than Big Bear.

            Ya know..

For $100; I bet Nagal would drag you all over Big Bear and throw some Ball Parks at you every night. If something broke, he could watch ya fix it all night if it takes that much.

I unfortunately cannot make it even if I had the $$ to spare (which I do not). The diversity and number of Jeeps would probably be reason enough for me to at least go look. I can't imagine some of the little tricks you would be able to pick up.

do they close the trails off to only their participants? how does that all work?
i'd be curious to "see" all of the jamboree'ers, but not so much participate.
i'll bet that mountain is crawling with noobs.

We should bring some chairs and park over at the John Bull Rock garden and Holcomb Rock Garden and Just watch and enjoy the day.

Then we can run them at night. I think it would be a fun event to do once, but as Sarah said not for something so local, and its a little pricey. I know you get a lot for the cost though.

Now that sounds like a plan.... we can make score cards and judge the people as they go thru

HA! Thats Awesome. We could put the MJR banner behind us too for a little advertisement. I wonder if they would get mad.......

I think this may turn out to really happen.

Yea...after I posted it I started thinking the same thing that I could just go with MJRs and save the money for MODs.

My Unlimited is Woooooofully stock and in desperate need for other things that am not sure I want to give the money up for it.

                      Me + wife + son = ChaChing$$$$$

Maybe save it for down the road when I have done everything I want to my Jeep.....WAIT that will never happen

My wife's Aunt has a house up there...maybe go up for the day to see some Factory Rep Stuff...hmmmm....

Ooo!! Score cards! HAHAHA!! I think I was up there doing the AAT Pre-Run for the last jamboree, come to think of it. May would have been about the right time period, anywhoo, it took FOREVER to get ANYWHERE up there, due to the fact that no one knew where they were going. Of course, the jamboree wasn't running the trails we were on, but if it's like anything else in SoCal, there is no way to "close off the area."

Ranger, as Nagal said, I'm sure we'll be doing a run up there as soon as it warms up a little - and you're always welcome to join in.
