  • New Years in So Cal

Chris and I have the motorhome, and would like to do some light wheeling, exploring, relaxing...with a get together on New Years Eve.

We were thinking Calico, and exploring the areas we NEVER go to, Dry camping at in the canyon before Lower Doran. Id really like to hike up Wall Street, maybe do a Ghost Walk again, and see some of the stuff we never slow down to look at.

Ill probably be bringing my daughters, and maybe a friend or two. Kids are welcome.

Anyone want to join us? CLICKY HERE to add your name to the roll call

And Here to join us on the Ghost Walk.

Any chance of doing Pumkin Eater? That might make me a tad more interested.

I might be interested in this. The new trailer needs to get a workout.

Also, the Bakersfield trailblazers are having a run at calico the same time. They plan on doing Duran, and Odessa and other trails in the area.

Here is a link to their web site for info on the run:
                http://home.off-road.com/~trailblazers4x4/

We are considering going to this run. It would be the maiden voyage for our jeep since it got lifted. Our trip to Panamint was cut short by a motorhome on its side.

                    Okey dokey...

The 6pm Ghost Walk has 20 spaces available right now. They do have a tendency to sell out quick. If youre seriously considering doing this with us, I HIGHLY recommend that you reserve your spot right now. Its only $10 and totally worth it. Im reserving 6, so that leaves 14.

Phone number for reservations: (760) 254-3340

Last time we ended up having in excess of 20 people, and had to book a private tour.

I will be up there with a couple friends on Sat morning. It looks like rain is forcasted. Have you ever ran this trail while it was wet? I would imagine you could get some pretty good rivers coming down those canyons.

yeah, weve been there in the rain...but I cant remember how wet it was.

We always run the trail without taking time to explore...so this time were hoping to do some more exploring then we usually do.
