Some of you might be aware, we have a fire in the Angeles Oaks area (Hwy 38, SE of Barton Flats. No serious threat to the SBNF, but you should be informed.

The latest information that I have is that the fire held at
approximately 1000 acres overnight, and it is moving primarily north
northeast towards Thomas Hunting Grounds, which is just southwest of
the community of Angelus Oaks. There is currently 13% containment and
no projected time for full containment.

There was also a fire up on 38 on Wednesday...is it the same?

My daughter was on her way up there Wednesday for a cross country meet. The school buses got stopped at the bottom of 38. My daughter and the rest of the kids (over 100 just in that school), had to wait nearly two hours in the heat of the school bus to be escorted up the mountain.

She snapped several pics while waiting...the fire burned right up to the road where the buses were. I dont think I have them here...as she took them with her yearbook camera. Ill see.
