I know there has been alot of runs up to corral canyon with just runs
in the last month or 2, I've only been on one Bronco's peak anyways,
and I could'nt make it last weekend, So Im leading a run out there,
Planning on Bronco's Peak and Sidewinder if Bronco's peak doesnt take
to long. So heres the details
Meet 9am Saturday July 23rd Four Corners Trail Head Corral Canyon.
Run Bronco's Peak, stop have lunch at the camp ground at the end of
Bronco's peak, then run Sidewinder
Difficulty Rating 3+ However Im not sure if they got any rain out
there today, so conditions may be different especially on the new
trail!!! Im planning on getting there a little early to walk up the
back side a bit and make sure its all right, those who have ran the
new trail will understand why I would do this.
Run Typeay Run DR
Directions to Corral Canyon OHV Park:
From El Cajon (I8 and Hwy 67)
Go east on I8 about 30 miles to Buckman Springs Road (Exit 51). Go
south on
Buckman Springs Road about 3.25 miles. You will pass Mountain Empire
High
School on your left and a Forest Service facility on your right.
Shortly
after passing the Forest Service facility there will be a right turn
with
signs for Corral Canyon OHV area. Take the right (Morena Stokes
Valley Rd.)
and proceed past the military base. Continue a couple of miles up the
mountain toward the fire lookout tower. As you reach a saddle of the
mountain you will see the 4 Corners Parking area of Corral Canyon OHV
Park.
If any one wants to meet up and drive out there together I live in
Tierrasanta, email me and we can arrange somthing, Im planning on
getting there at 8:30 though.
I plan on leaving the Fourcorners area at 9:30AM Sharp, Unless I get
a call saying your a little late or you catch me on the CB, I will
wait a little bit for ya the sooner you let me know the better.
Please have all the required a equiptment, As far as your vehicle
having lockers, I recommend at least one, But I watched a guy with
open diffs, run it, pretty impressive and some good/lucky driving.
RSVP is not required, but a email would be nice so I have an idea if
any one is going, If you decided 7am you want to go thats fine, just
show up, maybe give me a call.
