I spent the last couple days travelling through the Pinacate Biosphere Preserve, and from there to spend a little time on the beach between Puerto Penasco and Laguna Del Mar, Mexico.
The roads were non-technical in nature (2wd), but very overgrown, and very difficult to follow. We had over an inch of rain Friday night, which made me very happy that I removed the passenger seat and built a platform in its place so I can sleep inside the jeep. The rain did play to our advantage though, as it firmed up the dunes in the Alter Desert enough to make travelling easy. Of course it is illegal to drive on them, so we sent 3 people to hike the 8 miles to the other side, where we picked them up.
Anyway, this was my first trip south of the border, and it was a good one! The tequila went well with the sunset over the sea of cortez. A big thanks to our generous sponser, Keen Sportswear.
