Wow, that Nikon has a 60x zoom (24mm to 1440mm equivalent). Hard too believe ANYTHING would be too far away. Sounds like you need a tripod or monopod for stability.

Maybe a gun turret like on Han Solo's Millennial Falcon. The 60x zoom works great - I can read their name tags at a quarter mile LOL. I may pay the $100 next year for a photographers pass - and get a little closer.
