Trail Run: New Years Eve/Day?

Anyone up for a day trip on New Year's Eve (Wednesday) or New Year's Day (Thursday)?

I'm still somewhat green, and haven't had much opportunity to get out and see a lot of the trails SoCal has to offer, so I'm open to anything within a couple hours drive.

Google Saline Valley hot springs... I like heading out there... my jeep in down though ;( However some other folks will be out there for a few days for sure!

That looks like fun, but an 8 hour drive for me kind of eliminates it as an option for a day trip... Maybe some other time!
