  • Trail Report: Kingston Peak and Chinns Lake Jeep Trails

More Colorado alpine jeepin' photos for ya!
This one is in Alice/Empire in Gilpin and Clear Creek Counties. There's a real glacier nearby but it was too late in the day to make it over to see it. Next time for sure! I was surprised at how much snow is still in the shadows. Not much for rock crawling although there were a few good spots. Mostly bumpy!!!

Moffat Tunnel - cuts through the continental divide over to Winter Park

    Following Franks red bronco

Betwixt the twee line (that little cutout is the trail)

Overlooking two alpine lakes > 12,000' (Little Echo Lake and James Peak Lake, you can see the one on the right in the reflection and the other is due left)

Lower Chinns Lake reservoir - seems like a great place to camp but full of mosquitoes (and yes it hailed too)

    Ice fishing?
