Thanks for all your hard work to get the trail opened.

I had driven up to the trailhead at the top of Kaiser Pass early July while on my way to Edison Lake sight seeing and saw that it was closed. I was a little worried.

Two years ago the Forest Service set opening dates for all the trails, the date for Dusy is August 1st. The reason they give is to protect the Yosemite Toad. So this means the trail no longer opens when snow conditions allow, frustrating, but we have to do what they say.

Thanks for all the kudos,we do it because we love the trail.

I did the Dusy last summer. Fantastic trail and scenery. Thank you and your group for the work you do on that trail.

The only down side on that trip was seeing meadow damage from grazing cattle. I don’t understand why the forest service needs to lease grazing rights in the high Sierra (must be a powerful ranchers lobby). I doubt off-roaders, who are confined to a narrow path (the Dusy), do anywhere near the damage to the toads habitat that those cows do.

Thank you for the work and dedication to keeping our trails maintained and open.

I'm hoping this trail will stay open long enough for me to see it. It's been on my bucket list for a couple years now...
