  • Trail Run: Anyone up for a run "somewhere other than Big Bear" this Wed night-Friday?

    Hi everyone,

I am wanting to head out for a few days later this week. I am kind of over running Big Bear all summer and don't mind heading up into the Sierra's for something different. I am up for camping and exploring. If anyone is also up for it and wants to get away from the freak show that will be in LA over the 4th please let me know!

    Thanks,
    Brett

How about the Lake Isabella area? Some neat trails to explore, Sequoia NF is there.

I've already got plans :-( I need to get out and go wheeling again, it's been a few months! I've been wheeling my Willys on upper jack stand, haha

I'd go but am already headed to Bodie Ghost town and fishing at Pine Creek in the Eastern Sierras. Have fun whatever you do this weekend.

And good thing that roll cage is build to withstand the rigors of upper jack stand. Otherwise it could get ugly...

just went up to Gorman and ran around Yellow Jacket, Miller and a few others yesterday on a day run with my buddy Mike and his 07 Rubi JKU.

Great day except my TC started puking gear oil, out the rear output shaft seal (i think). There is nothing quite like the smell of burning gear oil wafting off of the exhaust for 3 hours straight... Other than that was a great day.. not too hot...

Got the love the smell of burning gear oil in the morning yeah. When you use 30 year old parts it's normal to be surprised every now and then

The TC was just hot... the gear oil vented... a lot going up that last stretch of Miller that is uphill and rocky for almost an hour... all is well ... well... most is well
