Trail Discussion: Marble Canyon

Anybody heard of Marble Canyon? ( about 3 to 4 miles from pilot rock).

I didn't see anything on any of the maps I have. There is Miller Cyn and a Maloney Cyn in the Pilot Rock area.

Might be something in the Los Flores Ranch area on the Hesperia ridge??

I checked the 7.5 minute maps of the area and i didn't find anything that matches either.

Marble canyon is a located in Honda Valley near Apple Valley. The name was given to it by the local jeepers due to the rocks moving as you, in your jeep, attempt to pass over them. It is a short fun run that can be done in both directions in one day or you can head up the mountain on 2n17x to Lake Arrowhead.

If you go, min requirements would be 33's, one locker, a self recovery device as the potential to get stuck is there, rock rails and belly protection highly recommended. The rocks do move on you so be ready for it. One section I had to change my line three times due to the rigs going before me moving the rocks. It was a lot of fun.

Probably should be renamed to "Marbles Canyon" so that there will be less confusion with Marble Canyon in Death Valley or Marble Canyon of the Colorado River in Arizona.

This is one sweet canyon ...!
You'll want to be on 35" and at least one locker...
or if on 33" you'll need 2 lockers..
