  • Trail Run: Calico Trip Janaury 4-6

    Hey guys,
I am going to be camping with some of my friends at Mule Canyon at Calico January 4-6. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome. You can come up for the day or camp with us. We will run Odessa to Bismark Mines to the Overlook Ledge and down Doran Saturday. I may run up Doran Friday afternoon. My name is Kevin and I have the Red Rubicon. We will have pretty well built Jeeps and a few buggies but all Jeeps are welcome. We will take some runs up Gatekeeper too.
    Happy Holidays,

    Kevin

Bummer, we had Caliico all to ourselves. We ran every canyon. My buddy alomost rolled driving down gatekeeper. Video and Pics to follow. No wind sunny and great trails.

Yeah, he is great and he has really made it nice. He now has rear steer. I do my best to keep up with him.

What axles does your buddy Steve run on his buggy now? I know it started out with Unimog axles, but the rear definitely does not look like a Mog axle

I am not sure but they came with rear steer. They are a pretty new kind of axle but it sure which one. The buggy just idles up everything. They might be spider axles.

It seemed like it was a lot taller with the Unimog axles. He turned it into a totally awesome buggy.
So when is he going to modify your Rubicon?

He lowered it 4 inches and stretched it five inches I think.
My rubicon has 35 spline axles with an ARB in the rear and Ctms up front with alloy shafts but I could go to coil overs and a stretch. I could just sell it and start all over too. I can run most trails but at the Hammers I have omly done Clawhammer, Aftershock, Jackhammer, and did Crowbar too. I always want to do more to my jeep but I am a teacher so limited funds these days. His buggy is pretty amazing now and he has every trail out there.
