  • Trail Report: Borrego Badlands Run: Sept. 15th, 2012

In the Anza-Borrego Desert of southeastern California lies a tract of land some 20 miles wide by 15 miles long, known as the Borrego Badlands. Once undersea, the region today is a maze of hills and arroyos which, when seen close-up, reveal a hidden treasure of native palms, remote springs and mysterious concretions.

Nice report John! Great pics. I'm impressed that the Subaru attempted Calcite Mine. I guess the driver was feeling good right before getting stuck in the mud.

          LOL!

Yeah, he did okay out there... until he hit that nasty mud pit. The trail up to Calcite Mine has gotten a bit rougher since last time I was there.
