  • Trail Discussion: Last Chance Canyon

I'm hoping to head to Last Chance Cyn, but want to hit up Nightmare Gulch and the V notch too, but not sure where they are. Does anyone have a map of the area and trails or GPX that they can provide to help me find my way?
    Greatly appreciated
    DB

V notch is at the end of LCC or beginning depends on where you start.

from the gps section of this forum. Very useful information there.

          Thanks so much!

Is the V notch at CM23 001. My bud has an FJ and worried about taking it through the V notch, i read there is a drive around it though?

Me and two other jeeps will be hitting Last Chance Canyon on 5MAY12. Meeting at 0800 at the Wayside Cafe' in Rosamond for breakfast and going from there. We will be going in through Black Rock Canyon, if the short cut is open we will be taking that over to the Talc Mine. This short cut has two steep but short climbs and a little off camber wheelin. Then doing some site seeing, then over to some cabins, another short cut that is really no big deal, then headed down last chance canyon. I wouldn't call last chance difficult by any means unless you are a n00b. Only extra equipment I would recomend for last chance are rocker guards and maybe some under armor if you are not too familiar with wheeling off road. I'd be interested in seeing an FJ do Last Chance.

Wouldn't take and FJ down Nightmare. There are two pinch spots that are tight on a JK, can't imagine an FJ getting through them unscathed. Then again have seen a full size bronco do that canyon but the driver didn't care about his rig and drove mostly by "touch".

hey there, we've planned on the 6th, but could actually move it to the 5th if you want company. also got a 4runner in the group.
My friend is concerned about his FJ on the V notch, but from what I read there is a drive around so he can avoid it...

......if we can't move to 5th, would you be interested in the 6th?

Watched a guy take his brand new Suburban Mall Crawler through NMG. It went in shiney shiney and came out missing parts (running boards, glass, and lots of paint). Never saw the man again. Wife killed him...
