Trail Report: Calico MLK weekend

Some photos of the jeeps in our group (mostly from JeepForum, but a few MJR folks there too). We ran Odessa and Doran saturday (being slowed down alot by a few stock guys) and then did a night run on Odessa forwards and backwards with just a hand full of wranglers. I didn't stay the night, but I think they ran both trails again the following day.

Fun trails, I liked them! I like being in those canyon areas where the walls are straight up and narrow, that was fun! We looked at the top of the Gate Keeper while on the Doran trail, it's tempting! But I don't want to try it unless we have a flatbed in the group... just in case haha :-D

Yeah you get that tunnel feel, especially at the entrance of Odessa at night. That was a fun trip. Here's a few videos.

yea, at night some parts of the trail feel like you are driving in a cavern of some sorts!

I wish I would have stayed to the right like i started doing, it started to feel a little tippy so I went to the left mid way through, but after seeing the video, I totally should have just kept on the right side. If that's what you are referring to

What have you done to me Lorie?!?! I too am looking forward to the next trip...you should have that check by a doctor because it's contagious--just look at Skyler too. I think we both are infected with whatever you have.

I hope to have better video on our next run, if only I remember to stop having so much fun to capture it in video.

BTW I have a video of Dennis's group coming down, and yes I thought he was great, that is one of the things I like so much about the wheeling people I have met.

You should post Dennis's video. That's a section maybe most don't tackle by Wall Street Canyon...like that other little group, they looked down it and went around. It's cool we have video going up it and Dennis shows how it's done going down. Personally, I like going up it..not sure I'd want to go down.. lol
