You could head out to Lauglin on Friday (a good place to stay is at the Avi Resort & Casino), finish in Afton Canyon on Sunday and drive home on Monday. A stock Jeep can make the run. Bring extra gas and warm clothes. I wish I could join you, but I will be out of town on business.

Would be nice Russ...can't afford that one...and is why I'm keeping it 3 hours or less from home. Need to hit that lotto or make more money.

Yah, even though I was the one who posted it up, I'm having second thoughts about the cost of gas for a Mojave Road trip. So I'm still kinda looking for somewhere to wheel that weekend.

How do y'all feel about hitting Last Chance Canyon and Goler Gulch? Unfortunately Nightmare Gulch (my favorite trail in that area) is closed to motor vehicles the first half of the month.

I've been watching the Calico thread on Jeep Forum. If I don't figure anything else out, I might default to that trip.

I've done part of LCC when I did a run on Nightmare a year ago. so I have yet to do the whole trail on LCC... can you wheel Friday by any chance? And I think you should default to whatever we do Save that extra gas cash for another run 2 weeks from then too

I don't have Friday off, only Monday.

If you took LCC to NG, you did almost all of LCC. The hill climb on LCC is just a little bit past the turn-off to NG, and the hill climb is the last obstacle on LCC.

Goler Gulch is pretty fun too. Surprisingly it seems not many people know about it.

Big Bear? (Holcomb, Dishpan, or John Bull?) I've done Dishpan and John Bull, but I don't know my way around well enough to lead the way. I'd like to try Holcomb someday.

Holcomb is bada$$ and it's the trail we maintain as an Adopt -A- Trail crew member Patiently waiting

Lorie CB is easy to do. Just follow the arrows and signs. If you come to a obstacle your not comfortable with just go around it. CB is set up that way, with bypasses at all obstacles. Some of the trails say extreme so stay of them till your more comfortable out there. Thats the beauty of CB you can make it as easy or hard as you want. If you camp at CB you can do alot of exploring out there and not get in any trouble.

Curtis- are you forgetting I get lost in a brown paper bag? Or, maybe that was Roger that knew that ? Seriously though, it's not a big deal if it doesn't happen this time. We have a plan B and C in the works. If CB doesn't pan out, I'll let ya'll know the final destination Jeep, good friends, tent, jar of pickles, roll of toilet paper..we're Wheelin'!! whoo hoo!!

LOL, I've camped in ALL weather conditions SoCal has to offer, 120 degree summer camping in the desert, 5 degree snow camping in the winter, blizzard, 45 mph winds, hail, heavy rain, flash flood. Gotta collect interesting stories to tell the grand kids someday.

                      Here's me.

Wow, Wow, Wow, What is happening in two weeks?

I am going to stay 30 minutes from the house this weekend and try some new stuff at Cleveland this weekend now that I have got a little “rough” terrain under my belt this last weekend. I am going in the AM tomorrow to get my Trans flushed, pan dropped and filter changed out so I will be local all weekend. BUT I am interested in day runs on the weekend all the time.

You don't. You shove a Travel John up in your junk and go in your tent. Oh and you have to sleep with water bottles in your sleeping bag if you want unfrozen water to drink in the morning. Fun stuff.
