Merry Christmas!
We celebrated Christmas Eve by heading to the snow. It was a beautiful day in the mountains. The snow was 6 inches or so at the start of Gold Mtn. Even with south facing, there was still plenty of snow on the trail.
From there, we went to John Bull. There were tracks going up the Gatekeeper:
But it wasn't far before the tracks turned back and we were into virgin snow:
It was a tough climb. We stopped to put on chains and Kurt found out that brand new chains wouldn't fit his tires. It was starting to get late and trying to finish the trail with out chains would have been a long day. So unfortunately, we turned back.
But before then, I did get some video of the fun climb:
