  • Trail Run: Trip Across The San Bernardino Mountains 09/3-5/2011

Starting Saturday September 3rd at approx. 7pm We will be meeting at Cleghorn Road just off the 15 Fwy, we are going to take the trail over to lake silverwood, Then from there we are going to head over to Pilot Rock Truck Trail (2N17X) and head up to the Pinnacles/Willow Creek Jeep Trail on the backside of Lake Arrowhead. There we will Find a Camping Area Suitable to our Group Size. Then Sunday morning Sept. 4th, from there we will head to Deep Creek/Dishpan Springs Trail and run that to 3N16 which will take us to Holcomb Creek Trail which will lead us a loop back to 3N16 which will take us to Holcomb Valley on the back side of Big Bear Lake. This will be where we will find another camping area for the night, and just chill for the rest of sunday afternoon. as Monday Sept. 5th comes it will be a slow wake up for most and there will be an option to head home or stick around to run John Bull with the few who are willing and possibly another trail.

I just copied this from my facebook page for my friends on there but it explains most of it. so far we have 5 rigs going, lookiing to get a few more to tag along, but we dont want a giant group. if anyone is interested post up.

please keep in mind we are a diverse group and mite move at a slower pace than you would like.

That sounds like an absolute blast! I'm not gonna know what my schedule will be like until closer to the actual date, but if I can make it, I would love to go provided you guys are willing to drag my newbie butt along.

Remember, no camp fires outside of a campground!

Are sure you want to take 2N17X loaded down with camping gear? It's a tough trail. You may want to consider 2N33.

What are the rigs looking like that are going? I have a 2003 TJ with a 4 inch rough country suspension. 32x11.5 tires. Hi Lift, chain, tow straps, but no winch... Might be able to pull this one off... If not all might be able to meet somewhere and do 2nd day.

We have attempted to do this run starting on Rattlesnake in JV, Gold Mountain, John Bull through Holcomb, Dishpan, etc. we didn't have enough time to pull it off in 2 days. We had a group of 10 rigs and it was fun, however I wish we could have made the entire journey. We jumped onto the highway at dishpan springs and came home on Sunday. I think we messed around too much on John Bull and Dishpan Springs.

I would love to accomplish that mission. I will see if I can get a weekend pass to join you guys.
