I was bored today and after two days of wrenching on my Jeep. I took off to the north side of Lucerne Dry Lake to check out an indian encampmet. Sometimes after some rain, artifacts will be uncovered. No such luck today.
I had a "I wonder where this trail leads to" moment after leaving the Indian site. I followed a trail north up into a valley surrounded by the Granite Mtns.
Here's a shot looking south towards the San Bernardin Mtns and Lake Lucerne:
I came across a couple of guzzlers built to provide water for desert animals. I also came across a dump site from I assume an old mining operation. All the good stuff was long gone, so it was mostly tin cans.
It was very peaceful and relaxing. Oh yes, and only a few minutes from my home...
